Globetrotting

I saw this bracelet on The Coveteur. Susan was left this bracelet from her Great Aunt who loved to travel. She had a gem placed in all her favorite ports around the world. I think this is the most amazing idea!!!! Yesterday while I was visiting a local antique mall, I spotted a little globe charm and knew I needed to have something similar. Even if I can't put a diamond in all the places I have visited, it is still a sweet reminder that I need to travel more!

Let's Hear It For The Boys!

I love shopping the boy's department at the thrift store. The prices are always a few dollars cheaper, and the clothes have the perfect cropped fit. All of these pieces are some of my favorite thrift finds and nothing cost more than $5.

Boy's vest (its greener in person, not sure why it looks so washed out in the photo), boy's blazer, boy's tux jacket, and boy's trench - all thrifted

Double Cuffs

I loved this look so much (saved in my Pinterest) that I decided I needed two cuffs of my own. I found these cuffs on Ebay for $5 each. I love the little red accent.

Mad for Plaid

On Saturday my husband and I drove to Coloma, MI to visit a local cider mill. On the way back we stopped at an antique mall where I found this vintage plaid jacket. It is actually a set and comes with matching plaid pants. Ha! I tried the pants on when we got home and surprisingly they are super cute... I will feature them in a future post. Even better, the set was only $14! You can beat that!

Three Years in the Making

Yesterday was one of the most fun days I have had in awhile. Jentine and I have been blogging friends for about three years now, and yesterday we finally had the chance to meet in person. Jentine was in Grand Rapids for her brother's graduation and I drove up to meet her for a day of thrift and consignment shopping. We both are huge thrifters and have great thrifting skills/luck so I was really excited to see what would happen when our powers combined ;) Well, let me tell you, magic happened! The first store we hit up was the Grand Rapids Salvation Army. As soon as we walked in we were handed little plastic bags. I had no idea why, until I saw the tables and tables laid out with jewelry. Unbeknownst to us, the store was having their annual jewelry sale!

Jentine and I dug right in and we both found some great pieces (check out her blog to see her finds!). I purchased a beaded African collar (shown with a vintage camel blazer I plan to wear as outerwear), a large silver cuff, and a beaded tribal necklace.

I can't wait to hang out with her again. The thrifting awaits!

Thinking Pink

Think Pink

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this week's Friday's Fancies is all about pink! I love the color pink, and I had a lot of fun creating this look.

TGIF!!!! (almost)

Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend

This week I received a beautiful pair of diamond stud earrings courtesy of Anjolee.com. Anjolee specializes in diamond jewelry, and let's you, "customize any jewelry and make your own price". They have a large selection of diamond studs and I was able to create a pair to my liking. I chose yellow gold and a topaz stone because I love the color blue. It came in a pretty white box with a blue ribbon (perfect for gift giving). Next time you are in the market for a new diamond stud earring, definitely check out this website.

Critters

Today I am not a huge fan of my outfit (think I am going to change in a minute), but I wanted to show you my accessories. I hate snakes and spiders in real life, but I love them as jewelry for some reason. I am wearing a little vintage spider pin from Etsy and Stella & Dot's Serpent Bangle.

I will be participating in South Haven's Women's Only Weekend next month and will be giving away this bangle to one lucky girl. If you are local stop by and visit me at the South Haven Wellness Center on November 12 to enter!

$3 Special

Here is another $3 thrift store find. I have really been feeling chunky knits lately and this sweater is so warm. Perfect for a crisp fall day like today. I paired it with my vintage Modernist necklace.

Orange and Green

Ok, this is the last time I will post about this sweater, I swear!!!

Today I paired the sweater with two vintage gold and green necklaces. Perfect for a fall October day.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Fall Outfit

Orange Sweater

My new J Crew sweater arrived today, and I love it! I cannot wait to create a fall inspired look with it. I am thinking dark wide leg jeans, some snake themed jewelry, and throwing on a blazer or faux fur vex to keep me warm.

Vintage Sequins

I was very sad leaving Boston because I knew there were not going to be any Savers thrift stores in Michigan ;) However, I have found a few good local thrift stores that semi make up for it, and today I found this vintage sparkly top at Goodwill. I am thinking of pairing it with dark jeans and heels a la Jentine. I asked John to take me to the 1920's themed Viceroyfor my birthday next month, so I feel like this might be the perfect top to wear :)

Today's Outfit

Hi Everyone! Today I am wearing a pair of pink jeans and a blue button down I thrifted from Savers. I paired it with my favorite necklace, the Stella & Dot Pegasus and a pair of ballet flats from TJ Maxx. I love these jeans! The shirt is a little big on me, but I love tucking it in haphazardly.

J Crew Sale

J Crew is having 30% extra off sale items today with the code MUSTHAVE. My picks are the Crewcut's Cotton-Cashmere sweatshirt in Heather Earth (which I purchased in a large size for myself) and the Resin and Crystal Link Necklace in Frosted Spruce (which I contemplated purchasing but decided to save my money). I love the contrasting colors of the orange top with the green of the necklace.

Hope everyone is having a great Columbus Day!

November Wedding

November Wedding

I am attending a wedding next month, and always have a hard time dressing for cold weather special events. I am thinking of wearing the Alice + Olivia dress I picked up from Gilt with a tuxedo blazer and my Stella & Dot Pegasus Necklace and La Coco Clutch.

Any other suggestions?

Tribute Bracelet

"Celebrate life, courage, and strength with this delicate bracelet dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In October 20% of proceeds will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The rose gold pave bar anchors on a delicate band of faceted hematite beads, adds subtle sparkle to any layered wrist."

I love Stella & Dot's new Tribute Bracelet, and by purchasing one, you can help a great cause and get something stylish at the same time. And at only $36, its a no brainer for your wallet too.

Today's Outfit

Sorry for the crappy pictures. I am trying to figure out a way to take full outfit pictures on my own. Also my bedroom is a disaster!

Anyways today I am wearing a sweater I found at a local thrift store. Another $3 item! I paired it with the Stella & Dot Leona Pendant and the Chantilly Lace Cuff. I am not sure if the gold color of this sweater is the best color for me, so I will probably tone it down with a blue or black blazer.

Stripes

I live in a very tiny town and one of the only places close by to shop is Walmart. This morning I had to do my weekly grocery shopping and found myself procrastinating in the clothing aisles. I came across this striped tee for $3 and couldn't resist picking it up. I paired it with a very Marni-esque necklace I got in a jewelry lot from Ebay.
