Thrifty Thursday!

I have been very remiss in posting my thrift store finds lately...I apologize. Anyways, last week I was perusing my fav thrift store, and I happened to spy this vintage fur jacket on the racks. I got seriously excited and ran over to it, and I got even more excited when I noticed the price tag read $7.99. I snatched it up immediately and ran to the cash register. Remember my fur jacket story from a few weeks ago? See, thrifting karma really does exist.

(as always, excuse the pictures and messy bedroom)

Also, I am not sure if you can see my skirt in the pictures, but I was inspired to purchase it after seeing this lovely outfit post on Orchid Grey.

My Maid of Honor

Maybe I will mention one wedding related topic per week...

Anywho, I haven't really done much in the way of wedding planning, but I have picked my lovely bridesmaids. My Maid of Honor is my best friend Lauren. We met in the 7th grade, but didn't become best friends until sophomore year of high school when we bonded over our love of the MTV show Daria, the Spice Girls, Felicity, and techno music (it was the 90s... what can I say)

Here we are in all our 90's glory (notice the sweet jeans)

Anyways, I can't wait to have her with me on my special day and we are already discussing fun wedding things like her dress (I think she will wear something different than the other girls) and my bachlorette party ;)

Here is a pic of us from this Spring. I am not liking my outfit, but I am actually wearing the same sweater to work today...

Lauren is also a fellow blogger. Check her out here

My New Favorite Sweater

Last week I had Wednesday off for Veteran's Day and I decided to get my engagement ring re-sized while I had time. The jeweler did it in about 20 mins, but while I was waiting, I wandered over to a store called Second Time Around. I usually never find anything in this consignment store, but this day I happened to find a navy blue Ralph Lauren cashmere cardigan on sale for $50. I seriously wore this sweater all weekend and am wearing it at work again today. Shhhhh, its fine.

Anyways, I decided to play around on Polyvore and make a work outfit and a weekend outfit for my new best friend.

New Jewelry Acquisitions

Happy Friday everyone!!!!

I wanted to show you some of the new items I have added to my jewelry collection the past few weeks.

The first is a celluloid dog charm I found on Ebay.

The bracelets on the right are Victorian bangles and the zipper bracelet was a bday present from my friend Nora.

Finally, is a beautiful cocktail ring designed by Midwest Alchemy. I emailed Kelly, the artist, about doing a custom ring for me, and she could not have been more sweet or patient. The first ring she sent me ended up being too small (my own fault... I told her I was a size 6 but I seem to be a bit bigger on that finger), so I sent it back and she made me a brand new one. Def check out her shop if you are looking for a unique cocktail ring for all those holiday parties coming up.

Birds of a Feather

I promise not to turn this into a wedding themed blog, but I just had to post these cute little wedding cake toppers. As soon as I figure out where I am having my wedding and what colors I want to go with, I am totally going to buy one of these cuties.

Blogger Trade

I "met" the lovely and talented Linda of Struggles of a Creative Mind through her friend Jentine's blog My Edit. I was perusing Linda's latest blog post a few weeks ago and read that she has an obsession with bows. I purchased this bow last year for myself, but I could never make it work with my hair, so I asked Linda if she would like it for her collection.

Linda creates lovely sketches of people with a business that she calls Misketch. In return for my gift of the bow, Linda sketched this picture of me. I think it is amazing!

Here is the photo it was taken from:

Check out Linda's Etsy shop filled with pretty jewels. You can also purchase your own Misketch here. It would make a lovely present for yourself or a friend (Christmas is just right around the corner!)

Thanks Linda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday Flea Market Find

This morning I got up bright and early and headed to Todd's Farm for some late fall flea market shopping. My friend Lesley is moving into a new apartment, so the main purpose of the trip was to pick out some things for her new place. She got some AMAZING furniture (seriously jealous), but I couldn't resist picking up this antique autograph book for myself. It is from the late 1800s, and I love the fancy script. There are a few color drawings inside as well. Such a treasure!

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my engagement! I am really excited and will keep everyone up to date on the plans :)
