Advice

I decided to clean out my whole closet yesterday to see what I have for Spring clothes. I obviously can't wear them for a few months still, but I like to know what I have just in case I see a great item in the meantime while I am shopping. I also wanted to pull out some clothes for my upcoming honeymoon. Eeee, I can't wait!

Anyways, this is the vintage (never worn, with tags) bathing suit I found at Savers on this shopping trip. I didn't realize that it was super high cut on the sides and makes me feel a little self conscious. I was thinking that maybe I can wear it as a body suit come summer, but I am still not sure. Do I look like a crazy person? I am actually not sure about the skirt as well. Its a vintage skirt I found at the Garment District a few years ago. I know longer skirts are in style right now, but I am not sure if they look great on me.

PS. Sorry for my blogging absence lately. I have been super busy at work and also have been working on the final details of the wedding. I am still reading everyone's posts and comments so please don't think I have disappeared :)

Highlighter

I found this sweatshirt at Savers last week. I really like the bright color even though its the exact shade of a yellow highlighter.

I made the necklace with a few blue and white beads from a local bead store. I really like the striped ones.

The Shopping Diet

Recently I read Phillip Bloch's The Shopping Diet. While I didn't learn anything I probably didn't already know, it did help me get a grip on my spending habits. From reading it, I took away that well made basics are worth the money and that you don't have to buy something just because its on sale. You need to figure out what your life requires out of a wardrobe. Personally, I need more clothes for work than the weekend, but also I need multifunctional pieces I can throw on for a day at the office or for a Saturday shopping with friends.

It seems like everyone's basics are pretty much the same. Mine are a good pair of black leggings and jeans, a pair of black leather boots a black leather purse, a silk blouse I can tuck into a pencil skirt or wear with jeans, and black dresses that can be dressed up or down. What are yours?
