The Last Thrift Find of 2009

I made a quick trip to my fav thrift store yesterday and spied these cowboy boots from afar. I was sad when I picked them up and realized they were a size too small. However, for some reason I kept thinking about them as I continued to walk around the store and ultimately went back and picked them up. I can stuff my large feet into them... not the most comfortable... but sometimes you have to suffer for fashion. (and they were only $2.50!)

Anyways, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! 2009 was a great year and I am looking forward to 2010.

I'm Back!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I went to South Haven, MI to visit my fiance John's family for the week. We were pretty busy visiting his family and friends, but we managed to squeeze in a little antique shopping (I bought this vintage purse... I am a sucker for anything with a monogram) and some outdoor ice skating.

Santa was very good to me this year! I loved everything I received, but here are some of the highlights.

A new camera, my favorite perfume, a book about starting an antique business, a Victorian purse, yummy bath products, and a cocktail ring.

The One I Didn't Get

On Saturday I went dress shopping with my mom, my best friend Lauren (Maid of Honor), and my friends Allison and Nora (Bridesmaids). My wedding is not until 2011, but Lauren lives in LA and is home for Xmas so I wanted to go while she was around. I went to a store called Vows which sells designer dresses at a discount. I REALLY REALLY liked this Vera Wang dress, but I wasn't sure if it flattered my body. I loved the 30s vibe of it, though.

Lauren took some pictures of me trying on dresses. Thanks Lauren!

Around the House

We are bracing for a huge snowstorm in Boston right now. The only time I like snow is when I get the day off from work. When it interferes w/ my weekend plans I am not happy.

Anywho, my Du Buh Du doll came in the mail. I need to find a place where the cat can't get to her....

What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?

Last year I was lame and stayed home b/c it was -2 degrees outside. Hopefully this year I will make it out. The boyfriend of one of my closest friends is playing a show in downtown bar. Its the perfect thing to do on NYE... hang out with good friends and do something low key. Anyways, in preparation for the festivities, I bought myself this 1960's mini dress on Etsy. I am thinking of pairing it with solid black tights and some fun shoes. I love these shoes from Urban Outfitters. They remind me of these (how cute is her style?)

What do you guys think?

Oh, and I totally said no more shopping. Clearly I am a liar. Whatever, New Year's resolutions start on January 1st anyways, right?

I'm A Winner, You're a Winner

A few weeks ago, I received the best email from Christine at Du Buh Du Designs. I had won her doll giveaway! I seriously couldn't believe it. Christine's dolls are gorgeous collector pieces that are highly sought after. Seriously... her dolls sell out as soon as she lists them in her Etsy Shop. Anyways, Christine had a shop update this past weekend and before the dolls were listed, I got to pick whichever one I wanted. It was actually a lot harder than I thought it was going to be... I wanted all of them. Finally I decided on Gabrielle. I love everything about this doll and Gabrielle is the name of one of my good friends so it seemed like a sign ;)

Anyways, thank you all so much for entering my giveaway! I used the random number generator and got #3. The lucky winner is Little Byrd

I am going to try and have a new giveaway each month so make sure you check back :)

Christmas Presents For Me

I have been shopping WAY too much lately. Its always so hard to pass up the holiday sales, though. Anyways, I bought myself a little something from one of my FAVORITE Etsy shops Boylerpf Jewelry. It arrived today... look how gorgeously it was packaged! Do you want to know what was inside?

........A beautiful Victorian coral necklace to add my my collection.

So no more shopping for Bri. One of my New Year's Resolutions def has to be no more shopping. Another one is going to be to join the gym around the corner from me (I say this as I am eating leftover chili as a "pre-dinner snack")

What are your resolutions?

Don't forget to enter my giveaway below!

Here Comes The Bride

Oh Christmas Tree...

I really wanted to get a real tree this year, but I didn't think my cat Oliver could handle it (good choice on my part... I woke up last week to a tipped over tree and a broken ornament). I ended up getting a fake tree at CVS and 2 boxes of ornaments and this pretty angel at the Salvation Army. I know the angel is too big for the tree, but I don't really care. The tree has "fiber-optic" lights. This is a little cheesy, but they look really pretty at night.

Sorry for the bad photos. I really tried!

Happy Monday!

All I Want for Christmas
All I Want

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I had to work a museum event on Saturday and then yesterday my friend Stephanie threw an engagement party for me and John. It was so cute!

Anyways, it is now that time of year. There are just a few things I am hoping Santa will be bring me this year... a black cashmere turtleneck, a gift card to J Crew so I can buy some skinny cords, a cashmere scarf/wrap, jewelry from Anthropologie, polka dot tights, and a Comme des Garcons wallet. Pretty please Santa!!! I have been a good girl this year ;)

Holiday Sparkle

Hey guys! I added a few new necklaces to my Etsy shop. I found a small lot of vintage celluloid dog charms. I have a variety including greyhounds, a Scotty dog, a dalmatian, and a few in which I can't recognize the species ;)

Happy Thursday!

LBD

I went to Old Navy on my lunch break today and found this dress for $4... yes, that is right, $4! (they are having 30% off clearance items in the store)

It is pretty basic, so here are some fantasy items I would use to jazz it up a bit:

Boots... When we went to NYC this weekend, Anne's friend had these really cool boots on and I became obsessed with them.

This sweater... it looks like it might be itchy, though.

Necklace... Antropologie has some amazing new jewelry. Def check out their site.
