Decorating For Free

I feel like the house always looks so sad after all the Christmas decorations are taken down. I want to decorate the house but am working on a limited budget as you know. I found these twisted twigs on a walk and love how dramatic they look grouped together in a vintage vase. I also framed a funny picture my best friend Lauren drew for me in high school. Finally, I decided to keep the swan ornament my friend Nora gave me out all year.

I unexpectedly won a fantasy football league and came into some extra cash. The bracelet is now mine!!! I will change the thermometer and goal this week :)

My parents are luckily the kind of people that take forever to do things like take down christmas decorations so I get to enjoy them for weeks after Christmas! I think Valentines Day weekend was our record. I love it. But I agree. Taking them down does make the day more sad. It depresses me.

I love the twigs! We have a massive pile of birch on the front porch that I'm puzzling over what to do with. They won't fit in a little vase, but you've inspired me to make them a pretty part of the house somewhere!

I always feel sad taking down the decorations too! Maybe I should go all out with Valentine's Day decorations to make up for it. Or President's Day.

It is so hard to let the glitter of Christmas go. The swan is a beautiful reminder which looks good whatever the season. Well done on your fantasy football win. Xxxx
