Some New Accessories

Here is a vintage fur hat I found at the antique mall for $20. Its going to keep me warm through this long Michigan winter!

I won these funny mask pins on Ebay a few months ago. I keep them pinned on an old Forever 21 sweater I purchased a few years ago.

Also, these boots will be under my tree this Christmas courtesy of my parents. I can't wait to wear them!

This past week I purchased a vintage metal collar for $2 from the thrift store and a Victorian/Victorian Revival slide bracelet for $11 from the antique mall.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I am doing a little closet clean out in preparation for the holidays and am selling a few items on Ebay. You can check out my listings here.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Black Friday

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! Is anyone going to do any Black Friday shopping tomorrow? I think I am going to avoid it, but this is something I would wear if I was going to hit up the mall.

Let the holiday season begin!

Birthday Bling

My birthday was a few weeks ago and I definitely lucked out in the jewelry department. I received 2 pairs of nOir earrings, a nOir bangle, a nOir ring, a cocktail ring, and I won a pair of earrings through Fash Boulevard.

I am storing it all in a little Limoges dish I found at the thrift store yesterday for $1. It has tiny hand-painted ladybugs which I love.

Mix and Match and Winner!!!!

Mix it Up

This week's Friday's Fancies is about pattern mix and matching. John and I will be attending a wedding this weekend, so I created two outfits that would be fun to dress up in. My pattern mixing is on the subtle side, but I love how both clutches look with the dresses.

And now on to the winner. The winner of the Stella & Dot earrings is Breezer. Congrats! I will email you for your information.

Wednesday Thrift Finds

Hello! Today I headed to Holland, MI to do a little thrift store shopping. I hit up Goodwill, Salvation Army, and a little store called Echo Thrift. Here are some of the things I found.

2 vintage necklaces (a locket $3 and a Modernist pendant $5), a bag that will be perfect for the beach next summer ($1), and a really nice wood frame ($2).

This is a necklace I found in the free bin at Echo Thrift. The cords got a little tangled so I am thinking that is why it was in there. I untangled it and voila!

Today is the last day to enter the Stella & Dot giveaway! I will announce the winner tomorrow morning.

Vintage Dress Form

When we purchased our home, we had the chance to buy some of the furniture from the previous owners. When John and I first looked at the house I had noticed a vintage dress form in the attic, and I was excited when the owners agreed to sell it to me. I almost feel like it belonged to the original owners of the house!

Right now I am using the dress form for extra jewelry storage. All pieces are Stella & Dot. Speaking of, don't forget to enter my giveaway if you have not already done so. Only 3 days left!

Camel, Green, and Gold

I found this picture of Rose Bryne and thought, "Hey I have that blazer too!" (mine is from the Salvation Army). I decided to pair mine with a white tee, brown boots from DSW, Stella & Dot jewelry, and a vintage charm bracelet. I love the peachy color of the lining so I made sure to cuff the jacket to show it off.

Thrifty Home Finds

John and I purchased a big old house. I love older homes, but it means a lot of our money has to go into fixing the house instead of decor. Therefore, I have been trying to snap up pieces at local thrift stores, antique stores and estate sales. Here are some of my favorite items so far.

Here is our "formal" living room (completely bare of furniture). Please ignore the gross screen on the fireplace. I thought I threw it away, but its mysteriously back. I picked up the rug for $40 at a local antique mall.

A mirror I picked up for $20 from the thrift store. I think its pretty old, but I am not 100% sure.

A reproduction poster I purchased for $12.50 (frame included) at another local antique mall.

Pretty green glass candlesticks from the thrift store. $3 each.

A vintage blue glass I turned into a vase. I picked this up at an estate sale for $2.

Busy Bee

Hi guys! Sorry I have been MIA lately. I have been reading all your comments, though, and promise to get back to regular blogging soon. The reason I have been so busy is that John and I just purchased our first house and we moved in last week! I have been spending my days unpacking, etc. I will show some interior pics soon :)

More Orange

I found this orange sweater at the thrift store yesterday. This one was a bit more pricey... $4.99 ;) I was looking for a cable knit sweater and its even better that its orange!

Also, I put my little globe charm on a vintage link bracelet I had. The only bad thing is that it has a tiny bell inside so I tinkle anytime I move my arm. It was driving my husband crazy last night.
