Metallic cloth vintage bags like this are in abundance at thrift and antique stores. I picked this one up for $4 at a local thrift shop. (Since they are so easy to find, I really would not spend more than $5 on one.)
This project is very easy. You simply need a cloth clutch and an assortment of pins.
Place pins on bag until you find a combination you like. You can mix and match as much as you want.
My favorite is probably the pin I call Herman.
If you aren't into vintage bags, Stella & Dot's La Coco Clutch is the same concept.
