Singing In The Rain

Its POURING outside right now. I decided to look up vintage raincoats on Etsy but came across this little bolero in my search. As mentioned in my last post, I went to a show on Sat night. I seriously felt like I had nothing to wear. I think I ended up wearing jeans, a boring top, and a scarf, but this little jacket would have been perfect! Someone please buy it before I do!

Monday, Monday

How was everyone's weekend? Mine was good. It included taking the cat to the Vet on Saturday morning for a shot, running errands and having pastry and coffee at a Celtic Bakery near our new apartment, seeing the Aggrolites play at the Middle East in Cambridge, and driving around looking for random rummage sales. All in all, a good weekend.

Mondays always make me sad. I don't know why, but this mouse pin would cheer me up. Seeing a real one in person scares me, but this little wooden one is fine.

I have turned into one of those crazy people...

Who starts buying Christmas present 6 months in advance. Well, its better to be early than late, no? Anyways, I really need an new iPod this year b/c I broke mine a few weeks ago, but I am also hoping that Santa will also bring me these.

Ice cold

It is so cold and raw today... I had to buy myself some winter gloves on my lunch break because I couldn't take it anymore. I miss the summer already, and I wish it was warm again so I could wear this vintage sunglasses and lounge around outside.

It is cold outside!

I think this is the first thing I have posted that wasn't from Etsy in a very long time. New England has been FREEZING lately, and I desperately need a new pair of gloves for the winter. I origionally thought I wanted leather gloves, but I really like these Ralph Lauren ones from the Macy's website.

Long Weekends

It was so nice to have Monday off this week. The foliage this weekend was amazing, and I wish I had taken some pictures of the colors. The bf and I had to do alot of "apartment things" this weekend due to moving, but we did have some time to take advantage of the great fall weather. I also checked out 2 vintage stores in the area: 40 South Street in Jamaica Plain and Poor Little Rich Girl in Davis Sqaure. 40South Street had a pretty good selection and was reasonably priced. Poor Little Rich Girl was a bit on the pricey side, but I did walk away with a 1950's day dress. I do feel a bit guilty today for spending the money on it, though.

I also picked up this dress on Etsy last week. NO MORE SHOPPING FOR BRIANNE! Seriously, I am cutting up my credit cards after I finish writing this.

"Go To" Piece

Do you ever have those mornings when you are trying to get ready for work and everything you put on makes you feel wicked dumpy and you start to get really annoyed because now you are running late and you still have no clothes on?! Yes, I have those mornings too. Lately, this skirt that I purchased from Etsy a few weeks ago seems to be my "go to" piece when things just aren't working out for me. I add a black turtleneck and some fun tights and then things don't seem so bad anymore.

Halloween Costume

I have decided I want to be Nancy Drew for Halloween. I think it would be a really easy costume to create. Yesterday at one of my favorite thrift stores, I found 2 brand new Yves Saint Laurent ties for my bf for only 99 cents each. He wanted more, so I went back to the store today to see if I could find some (I found 2 more, and also a brand new Lanvin one!). I also decided to look for my costume. I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but I did find a great longer plaid skirt and a sweater vest to match. It was "Student Discount Day" so with my part time id, I was able to get everything for $7! Yay, I love shopping.

Nancy Drew book found via Etsy.

I have an obsession...

With dresses lately. I cant stop! I bought 2 more today while doing a little thrift store shopping on my lunch break. I think the thrift Gods were looking out for me today.

How Christmas Party Perfect is this dress by the way?!

I am supposed to be packing

I am moving tomorrow and am supposed to be packing, but I ordered this "surprise box" of vintage clothes from Esty and had to open it immediately. OMG! I got so many wonderful things! I cannot beleive how lucky I am. Sorry for the horrible photos, but I had to share the wealth.

Is it too early for Christmas planning

So it is already time for me to start planning my work's annual Holiday party. I would love to have something festive and different to wear like this dress. I feel like it just screams martinis and good times.

On a side note, I went to the Salvation Army on my lunch break today. It was really expensive! What is going on?! I found a great vintage London Fog raincoat, but it was $20. I don't know, a $20 thrift store raincoat still seems like a splurge to me. I did not end up buying it, and was kind-of sad, but I found out that my mom has an old one that she is going to give me. So the story ends well after all ;)
